SOAP LAKE - The annual Suds & Sun is set to be held in Soap Lake on Saturday, July 6.
Organizers say the event will include a parade, the Soap Lake High All School Reunion, Classic Vehicle Show and a Pig Run.
The events are apart of the Soap Lake Centennial Celebration.
The parade, which is from 5 to 6 p.m, is free and open to the public. The Grand Marshal for the parade this year will be Soap Lake Mayor Raymond Gravelle.
The Centennial Committee is sponsoring a float depicting Soap Lake with its water and basalt cliffs, the Lady of the Lake, and surrounded by a variety of 'Mud Bathers' in period swimsuits. Keith Dolge will be MC'ing the parade and Chuck Fogerson will be performing the National Anthem.
At the beginning of the parade, alumni from the high school's six decades of students (at last count there are 350+ planning to attend) will walk together celebrating SLHS and Soap Lake. The reunion is hosted at the high school from 1-4pm.
The Pig Run which is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a storied Soap Lake event that is commemorated in this centennial year by the Classic Vehicle Show and Pig Run.
Classic vehicles will be concentrated at the east beach and around Smokiam Park, although they will also be lining Highway 17 and throughout the whole of town. Organizers are expecting 70-100 to attend and there will be a limited variety of vehicles participating in the parade.
