MOSES LAKE - They didn’t secure a spot in the post season, but Big Bend women’s volleyball team certainly had something they could ‘hang their hat on’. The lady Vikings finished the season with the best overall record in team history with 17 wins and 14 losses.
"This group of student-athletes has taken it upon themselves to build this program by laying the foundation for expectations of excellence for the future," said Head Coach Michael De Hoog.
Nine sophomores will be leaving the program, Madison Shrope, Ashlee Adams, Kiana Miller, Payson Griner, Dakota Egbert, Katie Fujimoto-Young, Martina Wilder, Sadie Nielsen and Alex Gainer.
"This sophomore group of student-athletes has been fun to watch, and their dedication to the program has put Big Bend on course to be even more successful in the future," said Director of Communications Matt Killebrew. "There has been a marked improvement over the last two seasons in the Vikings volleyball program, and these nine young ladies deserve a lot of credit for making this happen."
Big Bend had to rely on a win over Walla Walla last Friday to get to the post season but the Vikings team fell short of victory.
