HANFORD – Moses Lake soccer dropped its first game of the season Thursday night in a shootout loss to Hanford.

Emily Mendoza put the Chiefs on the board in the 32nd minute, assisted by Morgan Skone, and Moses Lake led 1-0 going into half.

Hanford’s Erica Seiler tied the game in the 68th minute and the Falcons won the shootout 6-5 to earn a 2-1 win and improve to 2-1 on the season.

The Chiefs sit at 2-1 and return home on Tuesday to face West Valley. The Rams are coming off a dominating 7-0 win over Sunnyside Thursday night. Kickoff on Tuesday is set for 7 p.m. at Lions Field.
