MOSES LAKE - The City of Moses Lake has selected Kristine “Kris" Robbins as its new community development director.
Robbins has been employed with the city for 19 months and was recently promoted to senior planner prior to being selected for her new position to lead the Community Development department. Robbins previously worked for the City of Ritzville for 10 years as clerk-treasurer.
Robbins will begin her new role on July 22, according to city officials.
Four applicants were interviewed last week for the position previously held by Gilbert Alvarado, who resigned in late April and is part of ongoing claims for damages against the city filed by current and former female city employees.
The city has not started a search for a permanent replacement for former City Manager John Williams, who left his position June 11. Police Chief Kevin Fuhr remains acting city manager.
