EPHRATA - Cultivating community. That’s the motto inspired by the Columbia Basin Foundation’s new Agriculture Endowment Fund project. Located in Ephrata, the Columbia Basin Foundation assists donors in creating charitable funds that are appropriated in the form of grants to charitable and educational needs in the local community. But, ‘sowing the seed’ to aid the future of local ag is the Foundations newest endeavor. Known as the ‘Columbia Basin Foundation Agriculture Education Endowment, the account provides educational scholarships for ag students attending college and monetarily supports agriculture organizations, clubs, events and activities.

“The Basin is deeply rooted in agriculture, and we see the future of our agricultural communities dependent on the next generation receiving the proper education and training to pursue their agricultural careers,” Corinne Isaak of the Columbia Basin Foundation told iFIBER ONE News.

ITC Services-Glen and Carol Knopp have donated $10,000 to the Ag Endowment. Donations can be given in the form of money, land, yields or equipment. For more on how to donate, go to www.columbiabasinfoundation.org
