EPHRATA – Ephrata Police were busy tending to three vehicle crashes Wednesday morning, one of them being a large truck vs. a bicyclist.

Ephrata Police say Sabrina Alpine of Ephrata was riding her bike through the Rodeway Inn parking lot when, without slowing or yielding, entered the southbound lane of Basin Street and was struck by a 2.5-ton flatbed truck. Alpine was transported to Columbia Basin Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Alpine was treated and released.

In a separate incident, two pedestrians got a scare while crossing Basin Street at 6th when a vehicle that was stopped at the light was rear-ended by an SUV. The driver of the causing vehicle had minor injuries and will be cited.

Later that morning, a woman driving a truck was slammed into from behind when a driver hauling a trailer had a medical emergency and crashed.

Everyone who was treated at CBH has been released.
