QUINCY- Quincy Jacks volleyball hosted the Ephrata Tigers for the second meeting of the season for these two teams. Last time they played in early September was in Ephrata. The game went five sets before the Tigers ultimately won. The game Thursday night was just as intense as the first one, lasting five sets before another Tiger win.
This was the fourth time Ephrata has gone to five sets this season and the Tigers are 3-1 in those games. Ephrata also won its past five matches and hold a 5-1 conference record. The Tigers are tied for second in the conference with Selah.
This coming week will really test the Tigers, with Ellensburg coming to town on Tuesday and a trip to Selah on Thursday. If the Tigers can win one of those two games they put themselves in a great spot to finish as one of the top two seeds in the conference. The top two seeds host the first two rounds of districts, giving those teams a huge advantage.
Quincy is still in the thick of things and a win over East Valley next Thursday would lock up a spot in districts for the Jacks.
Both teams will compete in tournaments this weekend. Ephrata will be hosting the Ephrata Invite while Quincy will participate in the Wenatchee Invite.
