MOSES LAKE - Five teenagers were arrested early Tuesday morning after reportedly breaking into a Moses Lake home and running from police.

At about 4:50 a.m., residents in the 1200 block of Lakeside Drive noticed several young males breaking into a home. The witnesses were able to give police a description of the suspects as well as their vehicle, according to Moses Lake police.

Officers arrived and stopped the suspects’ 2011 Acura. Moses Lake police say the vehicle stopped and the five juvenile suspects exited and ran from officers. More officers arrived and the suspected were rounded up and taken into custody but not before two of the suspects allegedly broke into another home on C Street and tried to hide from officers.

The 2011 Acura had also been reported stolen from the 5600 block of Crystal Springs Road. The vehicle was later searched and items stolen from the Lakeside Drive home were recovered, according to Moses Lake police.

All five suspects, which included three 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, were booked into juvenile detention. One of the 14-year-old suspects was out on bail for allegedly prowling vehicles last week and being in possession of a stolen firearm. The 15-year-old was reportedly the driver in a pursuit in May where he collided with a Moses Lake police SUV.
