INDIANAPOLIS - Former Washington State running back James Williams has signed with the Indianapolis Colts.
Williams, who skipped his senior season to enter the 2019 NFL draft, had originally signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. Williams participated in the Chiefs’ offseason program before being waived in June.
Williams played in 39 games, 18 starts, for the Cougars and compiled 316 carries for 1,539 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also had 202 receptions for 1,437 yards and eight touchdowns. Williams finished in the top five in WSU history in total touchdowns, rushing touchdowns and receptions, and set a single-season record for receptions by a running back twice, as a sophomore with 71 catches in 2017 and as junior last season with 83 receptions.
Williams garnered All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2018.
