SPOKANE- Traveling to exotic places for early-season tournaments is nothing new for the Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball team. Last season, the team traveled to Hawaii to participate in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational.
This coming season, the Zags, and the hardcore fans who choose to follow, will have a chance to travel to the Bahamas for the Bad Boys Mower Battle 4 Atlantis tournament this coming November.
The Battle 4 Atlantis is one of the bigger early-season tournaments and will have eight teams in attendance, none of which should be push overs. Gonzaga, Michigan, Seton Hall, Iowa State, North Carolina, Alabama, Oregon and Southern Mississippi will all attend the tournament.
The Zags look primed to win the tournament, since they’re bringing plenty of veteran players, including Killian Tillie and Admon Glider. North Carolina is always good and boasts the top guard prospect in the country, Cole Anthony, but they’re very young. Duke was in the same boat last year and still fell to the Zags in an early-season tournament.
The tournament will be on Thanksgiving weekend, from November 27-29 and will take place in the Imperial Arena on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas.
