MOSES LAKE - A gun reportedly used in a Friday night domestic violence assault in Moses Lake was recovered Saturday morning.
On Friday night, Moses Lake police responded to the Paul Lauzier Athletic Complex after a woman told police her ex-boyfriend had attempted to pistol whip her. Moses Lake police previously reported the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Adolfo Chavez Moso, had struck the woman with the butt of the gun.
Chavez Moso fled the park and was later tracked down to the Knolls Vista neighborhood where he was taken into custody but was not in possession of the firearm.
Officers and K9 Grizzly backed-tracked along the suspect’s path Friday night but did not locate the gun.
On Saturday morning, Sgt. Dean Gaddis retraced Chavez Moso’s steps and found the gun dumped in the bushes in front of a home on West Loop Drive.
“Not only does Chavez Moso have several previous felony convictions, but the firearm was stolen,” Moses Lake police stated.
Chavez Moso is lodged in the Grant County Jail for second-degree assault-domestic violence.
