PULLMAN- The long-running sports documentary show, E:60, will be featuring Washington State head football coach, Mike Leach in their newest episode of the show this coming Sunday. The episode will be aired at 6:00 a.m. PT on ESPN.
Mike Leach has been widely known as an interesting personality in sports, giving him a sense of notoriety despite only coaching at small schools, Texas Tech and Washington State. The trailer ESPN released on the upcoming episode states, “He’s a one off, you could travel far and wide and you couldn’t possibly find anyone remotely like him.”
Leach has helped bring WSU Cougar football into contention ever since his hiring in 2012. The coach prior to him, Paul Wulff, went 9-40 in four seasons and never won more than four games in a single season. Leach has stepped in and led the Cougars to a 49-40 overall record, five bowl games, two bowl wins, the team’s first 11-win season in school history and a top 10 finish during his tenure.
After beginning his time at Wazzu with a lowly 12-25 record in his first three seasons, he’s turned things around. The Cougars have gone to four consecutive bowl games and have won at least eight games each season since 2015.
E:60 is a documentary show done by ESPN that generally highlights individuals. The program has been running since 2007 and recently they’ve covered other football stories such as Steve McNair, Tony Mandarich and Zach and Julie Ertz.
