MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man is accused of raping his girlfriend after reportedly entering her trailer while armed with a hunting rifle.
Zachary Castner, 32, is charged with second-degree rape-domestic violence in connection to his Sept. 7 arrest. His bail has been set at $100,000.
Deputies responded to a residence in the Upper Basin Homes neighborhood near Moses Lake after reports the victim had been held down and raped, and the suspect was armed, according to court records.
The victim exited the home when law enforcement arrived. The victim told deputies she was in a trailer in the back yard where she stays with Castner. Castner allegedly reached through the trailer window and unlocked the door, waking the victim, who told deputies Castner was armed with a hunting rifle.
Castner is accused of physically forcing himself on the victim and tried to force her into the bedroom. At one point, the victim says Castner placed his hand over her mouth and nose before raping her, according to court records.
Castner fled the home before deputies arrived. Moses Lake police later located him in the Lower Basin Homes area and he was booked into Grant County Jail.
