MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man wanted by the Washington State Department of Corrections fled Thursday afternoon.

Moses Lake Police and the Grant County Sheriff's Office are searching the vicinity near Guaranteed Appliance, which is located at 2135 West Main Street and S Schneirla Street in an attempt to find 36-year-old Frank Lopez.

Moses Lake Police Department Captain Dave Sands confirmed efforts to locate Lopez were unsuccessful.

According to the Department of Corrections, Lopez has been under the jurisdiction of the DOC for two counts of Residential Burglary, Theft in the 1st degree, Assault in the 3rd degree, Theft in the 2nd degree. Lopez has also faced drug charges including manufacturing, delivering and Possession with intent to deliver.

Sands confirmed the Grant County Sheriff's Office and the Moses Lake Police Department deployed K9s to track the subject.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office also deployed a drone in an attempt to locate Lopez.

The area near Guaranteed Appliance was surrounded with law enforcement. Police blocked off the road in the vicinity just after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
