ROYAL CITY - Royal football is into the second round of the state tournament after a dominating performance Friday night against Charles Wright.

The Knights came away with a 64-7 win to open the state tournament and remain undefeated on the season. 

Lorenzo Myrick started the scoring early in the first quarter for Royal with an 8-yard touchdown rush set up by a blocked punt. Myrick added a second rushing touchdown with about four minutes left in the quarter to make it 14-0.

The Knights put up 29 points in the first quarter, including a pick-six by Cooper Christensen.

Myrick added third rushing score in the second, and Caleb Christensen hit Cooper Christensen on a 40-yard touchdown pass as the Knights opened up a 57-0 lead at half and cruised to an opening round victory.

Royal is set to face undefeated Omak on Saturday with kickoff set for 2 p.m. in Royal City. Omak is coming off a 38-27 win over Colville on the first round.
