WARDEN- Warden Cougars softball has been a serious contender in the state tournament for several years now. This past season, the Cougars finally broke through the barrier and won their first trophy in the state tournament in school history with the help of several underclassmen.
The future of Warden softball continues to look bright, after its 12U fastpitch team, the Heat, dominated the competition this summer, culminating in the ASA State Title.
The Heat has been wiping the floor with teams all season, taking first in five of the seven tournaments they’ve been invited to and placing no worse than third. The third-place finish was at the NSA State Championship, giving the Heat top finishes in two state tournaments this season.
Over the course of the summer, the Heat have outscored their opponents 572-101 and have earned an overall record of 51-5. The season will wrap up soon with the Heat being invited to the Western National Championships in Medford, Oregon July 29 - August 4.
