Blewett wreck

BLEWETT PASS - Three people were injured in a collision Saturday morning on Highway 97, about five miles south of Blewett Pass.

Dawson A. Finley, a 23-year-old Yakima man, was driving a 1999 GMC Jimmy south on an icy Highway 97. He reportedly attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control, colliding with a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Both vehicles came to rest blocking the highway.

Finley was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with “severe injuries,” Trooper John Bryant stated.

Two occupants in the pickup truck, 74-year-old Peshastin resident William Timmermans and 32-year-old Wenatchee resident Ha H. Olson, both had minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital.

The state patrol cited Finley for unsafe passing.
