EPHRATA – A Hollywood production company is planning to shoot a scene for a movie in the sand dunes of Grant County.

REFLEX Films sought a contract with Grant County to use two parcels of the sand dunes to shoot a scene for a project titled “Deep Burial,” according to county records.

The production company is keeping the information about the work as secret as possible. But the documents reveal they intend to build a three-sided set piece to represent a door in the side of a sand dune and use it to shoot on location for two days.

The production is listed on the Utah Film Commissions’ website as pending an incentive program application. If approved, the company could receive between 15 and 25 percent of the money spent on the state back from a state government rebate.
