Nursing assistant sentenced to prison for abandoning a dependent patient

EPHRATA – A former nursing assistant was sentenced to prison after she neglected a man in her care until he needed to be hospitalized.

Sandy Reyes, a 30-year-old Yakima woman, pleaded guilty in Grant County Superior Court to criminal mistreatment in the second degree and abandonment of a dependent person in the second degree.

Moses Lake man charged with burglary of ex-girlfriend's home

EPHRATA – A Moses Lake man allegedly broke into an ex-girlfriend’s house, attacked her and hid from police inside a Windy Street home.

Prosecutors charged 23-year-old Enrique Leon in Grant County Superior Court with burglary in the first degree.

Volunteers needed to carry Fallen Hero banners in parade

MOSES LAKE – Volunteers are needed to carry Fallen Hero banners in the Spring Festival Parade on Saturday in Moses Lake.

The banners represent servicemen and women who lost their lives in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, parade chairman Toby Black said.
