MOSES LAKE – Residents can help “Stamp Out Hunger” during a food drive on Saturday.
The National Association of Letter Carriers is holding their 25th annual food drive.
People can leave non-perishable food items in a bag next to their mailbox to be collected on Saturday, May 13, or drop off donations at any post office in Grant County. All post offices are taking part.
The “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive has delivered more than one billion pounds of food the past 24 years, according to organizers. The event is the largest one-day food drive in the country. More than 80 million pounds of food was collected nationally last year, feeding about 64 million people.
All food collected in Grant County is sorted by mail carriers and donated to local food banks for families in need.
The drive is held each year on the second Saturday in May.
