Arlen Morris from Harstein Island came by Daybreak to talk about this weekends Inquiring Minds/Sparking Community Conversations at the historic Harstein Island Community Club.  The speaker on Sunday is UW Professor Shawn Wong and the topic of discussion is "Defending Your Voice: Teaching Soldiers How to Tell Their Stories". He was featured in the Bill Moyers documentary "Becoming American: The Chinese Experience." Currently, Wong is a professor of English at the University of Washington where, for the last 28 years, he has taught courses in fiction writing, screenwriting, Asian American literature, Chinese-American history, plus courses in travel writing at the UW campus in Rome, Italy. Wong currently lives in Seattle and Pacific County. He will be at the Harstine Island Community Club Hall, 3371 E. Harstine Island Rd. N, Shelton, WA on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016. The show starts at 2PM. Doors open at 1:30.
