OLYMPIA- A threatening phone call made to the Department of Licensing prompted an evacuation of the building in the state capitol Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday, authorities confirmed that a phone call made by an unidentified person to the building used the word “bomb” twice, which was enough to create alarm and an evacuation.

Department of Licensing spokeswoman Gigi Zenk told reporters the threat was made to the Attorney General’s Office located in the same building. However, as of Thursday, authorities are unsure if that’s where the threat was directed.

Washington State Patrol Sgt. Darren Wright said that the caller hung up the phone when a receptionist tried to get more information.

Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad scoured the building for bombs, but none were found.

The investigation into who made the call and why is ongoing.
