MOSES LAKE – A special three-day filing period for Position No. 4 on the Moses Lake City Council will start Aug. 1.

Grant County Auditor Michele Jaderlund announced the dates following a petition approved in court Friday to order former Councilmember Bill Ecret disqualified as a candidate for the general election, removing his name from the ballot.

Ecret was the lone candidate to file for Position No. 4 but resigned from Position No. 1 July 3 due to relocating outside the city limits.

The three-day filing period opens at 8 a.m. Aug. 1 and closes at 5 p.m. Aug. 3. Interested candidates are must file in person at the Grant County Auditor’s Office in Ephrata.

Any person who files as a candidate will appear on the Nov. 7 general election ballot.
