Upper Goose Lake fire

UPPER GOOSE LAKE - A wildfire near Upper Goose Lake was contained Sunday night after burning about 800 acres.

The fire, burning on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, was contained about 9 p.m., according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

A Level 3 evacuation issued about 4:30 p.m. has been lifted.

No homes were at risk and people in the wildlife area were notified and left the area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
