WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee AppleSox notched their sixth straight win Sunday with a 10-6 victory over the Yakima Valley Pippins.
Dalton Harum drove in three runs and Blake Klassen reached base five times to lead the AppleSox, who have now won 11 consecutive games at home.
Wenatchee took a 1-0 lead in the first after a sacrifice fly from Harum, but the Pippins scored three runs in the top of the second on two AppleSox errors.
Harum launched his fourth home run of the season in the third to cut the deficit to one. The AppleSox took a 5-3 lead in the fifth after Kodie Kolden singled and Connor Kiffer doubled to begin the inning, Klassen drove both in with a doubled then scored two batters later on a sac fly by Torin Montgomery.
Yakima Valley scored one in the six but Wenatchee responded with a two-out, two-run double by Cody Simmons in the seventh. In the eighth, Klassen doubled with two outs and scored on a triple by Harum. Hunter Montgomery reached on an error, scoring Harum, and back-to-back singles by Torin Montgomery and Kody Darcy scored another run to give the AppleSox a 10-4 lead.
The Pippins added two runs in the ninth.
With seven games remaining in the season, the AppleSox remained tied for first after Victoria defeated Bellingham. Up next is a home matchup on Tuesday against the Ridgefield Raptors. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
