YAKIMA – Moses Lake Girls Track and Field dominated the competition and the District 6 4A Championships at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima Saturday.
The Chiefs finished with a team score of 113.5. Eastmont was second with 98.
Moses Lake was paced by Alysha Overland who placed first in the 400 meters and 300 hurdles; was a member of the top 4x100 and 400 relay teams, and took second in the 200 meters.
Teammate Caylah Lunning gave her a run for the money taking first in the long jump, was on all three winning relay teams, and placed second in the 100 meters.
Kayla Grigg turned in an outstanding performance as well with a second place finish behind teammate Taylor Yamane in the 100 meter hurdles, a second place finish in the javelin event, and was on the winning 4x100 and 200 relay teams.
Colton Rose had the highest finish for the boys taking second in the shot put. Ben Crowell was third in the long jump. The 4x100 relay squad of Sam Welch, Jamie Carpenter, Shawn Kenny and Chadray Wright finished fourth.
