MOSES LAKE – Moses Lake girls basketball improved to 9-2 on the season taking care of Eastmont 42-25 Friday and West Valley 56-46 on Saturday.
The Chiefs opened up an 8-0 lead to start the game and held Eastmont to just six first-quarter points Friday night.
The Wildcats got within five in the second quarter before Moses Lake went on a 7-0 run to close out the half with a 25-13 lead.
The Moses Lake defense forced eight turnovers in the second half and held Eastmont to just 12 second-half points.
Moses Lake’s Jamie Lorea led the Chiefs with 13 points and Abby Rathbun added nine. Emily Dufour had 10 points for the Wildcats.
The Chiefs trailed 24-23 at half Saturday against West Valley but outscored the Rams 33-22 in the second half behind 17 points from Loera and 15 from Rathbun. Jessica Olsen also added 14 points in the win.
Moses Lake is back home on Friday for a matchup against Wenatchee. Tipoff is set for 5:45 p.m.
