MOSES LAKE - The Chiefs are heading to the Tacoma Dome after defeating Kentridge 65-57 Saturday night in regionals.

Moses Lake plays Thursday against the winner of the first round game between Eastlake and Camas in the state tournament.

The Chiefs had three players score in double-digits, including a game-high 25 from Jamie Loera. Abby Rathbun had 16 and Jessica Olson added 14 in the win.

Moses Lake held a 16-13 lead after the first quarter, led by eight points from Rathbun.

Loera picked up the pace in the second, scoring 10 in the quarter after taking a hard shot and getting knocked to the floor by Kentridge’s Dylan Ballena.

Moses Lake held a 37-35 lead at half as Loera and Rathbun combined for 26 points in the first half.

Kentridge erased the deficit in the third quarter, going up 43-40 before Loera buried a three-pointer from the corner to the tie the game with 2:15 left in the third.

Ellie Mayo and Olson hit consecutive three-pointers as the Chiefs clung to a 49-47 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Moses Lake opened the fourth on an 8-0 run before the Chargers added an 8-0 run of their own to cut the deficit to 57-55 with 2:44 left.

Up by five in the final minute, Loera stepped up again, hitting a shot just inside the free throw line, putting the Chiefs up 64-57, before hustling back on defense and forcing a miss on a layup attempt from Kentridge’s Tresai McCarver.

Loera hit one-of-two free throws to close out the game.

Kentridge’s leading scorer JaQuaya Miller had a team-high 18 points but the Chiefs held Miller to just four points in the second half.
