MOSES LAKE – Moses Lake baseball shut out Sunnyside 10-0 Tuesday behind a strong pitching performance from Ezekyel Ochoa.

Ochoa allowed just two hits over five innings of work, striking out two and walking just one.

The Chiefs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning on RBI singles from Austin Valdez and Brandon Swett.

Moses Lake added two runs in both the fourth and fifth inning before putting three runs on the board in the sixth.

Valdez finished the game 3 for 4 from the plate with four RBIs to lead the Chiefs. Swett was 2 for 3 with three RBIs.

The Chiefs have won six of their last seven games and sit in third place in the Columbia Basin Big Nine standings at 6-4, 6-6 overall. Moses Lake returns home for a doubleheader against Sunnyside. Game one starts at 4 p.m.
