SUNNYSIDE – Moses Lake girls basketball won their fourth straight district championship on Saturday, defeating Sunnyside 59-46.
Jamie Loera led the Chiefs with 28 points and Alexya Sandmann added nine in the Big 9 district championship game.
Both teams were already guaranteed a spot in the regional round of state.
Moses Lake held a 32-25 lead at halftime and outscored Sunnyside 16-11 in the third quarter to open a 48-36 lead.
Sunnyside’s Lexi Skyles scored 13 points and Chastitee Garza added 11.
Moses Lake gets a No. 2 seed in the state playoffs and faces Kentridge on Saturday at Big Bend Community College. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
