MOSES LAKE – Big Bend outscored Spokane 57-37 in the second half to notch their fifth straight victory 105-92 Wednesday night.
The Runnin’ Vikings were down 55-48 at halftime in a back-and-forth first half. Zach Shepherd went 7-for-8 shooting and was perfect from the free throw line in his 18-point first half.
Three-point shooting was difference in the first half as Spokane went 9-for-18 from behind the arc while Big Bend hit just one three-pointer.
Shepherd finished with a game-high 23 points. Joey Andrews added 22 and Jai Jai Ely had 21 to cap off a 57-point second half on 56 percent shooting for the Vikings. Jacob McCord was one rebound shy of completing his sixth-straight double-double, finishing with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
Big Bend’s led by as much as 16 points in the second half.
The Vikings move to 3-0 in the East and travel to take on Walla Walla on Saturday at 4 p.m.
