MOSES LAKE – In a game that spanned two days due to rain, Moses Lake collected just three hits in an 8-2 loss to West Valley.
The Rams opened up a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning on Tuesday when the game was suspended by rain.
Getting going again Wednesday afternoon, West Valley added three runs in the fifth inning to lead 7-0.
The Rams added another run in the top of the sixth before the Chiefs put two runs on the board in the bottom half of the inning on Cody Goodwin’s RBI single and a ground out from Brandon Swett that scored Kameron Huberdeau from third base.
West Valley’s starting pitcher Sammy Hitchcock, who threw just nine pitches on Tuesday, was back on the mound Wednesday, allowing just three hits and no earned runs over seven innings.
The Chiefs go on the road to West Valley on Friday for a doubleheader with game one starting at 3 p.m. Moses Lake is still looking for its first win of the season, starting 0-3.
