SELAH – Ephrata baseball was outmatched by Selah 10-0 in the 2A state tournament quarterfinals, ending the Tigers’ season.

The Tigers were coming off an extra inning first round win on Saturday against Port Angeles before falling to Selah.

Ephrata and Port Angeles were tied  1-1 heading into the 12th inning. Sophomore Zac Berryman scored on a walk-off single from Cole Spencer to give the Tigers a 2-1 win.

The Ephrata offense collected just four hits off Selah, the state’s top ranked 2A team, on Sunday. Starting pitcher Jackson Gray went 2 for 2 from the plate but gave up six runs over four innings on the mound.

Ephrata finished the regular season with a 16-10 record, good enough for fourth place in the Central Washington Athletic Conference, but knocked off Great Northern League champion Clarkston to earn a spot in the state tournament.
