EPHRATA – Ephrata baseball split a doubleheader against Othello on Saturday to remain a half-game ahead of the Huskies in the Central Washington Athletic Conference standings.
The Tigers took game one by a 3-1 score behind Zach Berryman’s solo home run and a 2 for 2 game from Gunnar Falstad. Falstad also added an RBI and run scored.
Ephrata starter Steven Louie allowed just one run over five and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and striking out six.
The Huskies took game two 3-2 as Alfredo Carreno, Arcenio Martinez and Jaxon Rocha each put up an RIB in the game. Othello starter Abel Gomez allowed two runs and just four hits over six and one-third innings to earn the win.
Carreno finished 2 for 3 from the plate and scored a run.
Ephrata sits in fourth at 9-6 in the CWAC, 11-6 overall, a half game up on Othello at 8-6, 10-6 overall. The Tigers face 14-3 East Valley on Tuesday while Othello hosts a doubleheader against Prosser also on Tuesday.
