EPHRATA – Josh Benthem hit a layup as time expired to lift the Ephrata Tigers over Ellensburg 76-75 Tuesday night.
Down 68-66 with four minutes left in the game, Ephrata went on an 8-2 run to take 74-70 lead.
But the Bulldogs rallied to go up 75-74 late in the fourth on a three-pointer from Million Zimmerman.
With seven seconds left in the game, Cameron Clark was able to get a pass through two defenders to hit Benthem, who hit the winning shot at the buzzer.
Benthem finished with 10 points and Clark and Caden Blankenship both scored 24 points to lead the Tigers.
Ellensburg’s Steel Venters led all scorers with 25 points and Zimmerman added 15 as Ellensburg connected on 16 three-pointers.
Ephrata sits at 3-3 in the Central Washington Athletic Conference, 5-3 overall and heads to Othello for their next game Dec. 29.
