Ephrata Tigers

PULLMAN - Ephrata boys’ golf placed fifth at the Palouse Ridge Boys Invite in Pullman Thursday. The Tigers shot 316 for the round. Ferris had the best outing on the Par 72 Palouse Ridge Golf Course with 289.

“The guys played well,” Ephrata coach Greg Hewitt said. “We had a great day playing in the soaking rain at the home of the Cougars.”

Lakeland’s Derek Bayley was low-round medalist with 66. The Tigers Aaron Whalen was two strokes back with a 68. Teammate Tember Newman shot a personal best 77. Mason Buchert carded an 85, and Josh Johnson and Zach Dwyer turned in an 86.

Ephrata is back on the links Tuesday for a CWAC league match with West Valley and Grandview at the Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside.
