EPHRATA (VIDEO) – An early goal was enough for Ellensburg to hang on to a 1-0 victory on Saturday over Ephrata.

The Tigers were looking to extend their winning streak to three games after back-to-back shutouts over Quincy and Wapato.

Ellensburg Senior Reyna Schelder scored the lone goal of the game in the 18th minute as Ellensburg remains tied atop the Central Washington Athletic Conference with four other teams.

Ellensburg goalie Brooklyn Koss kept the Tigers off the board, making seven saves in the match. Ephrata’s Courtney Richardson added seven saves of her own to keep the Tigers in the game.

Ephrata falls to 3-2 in league play, 7-4 overall. Up next for the Tigers is a home match against 4-1 Grandview on Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m.
