Ephrata Tigers

EPHRATA (Video) - Ephrata Boys’ took the 2A District 5/6 Track and Field Championships at Ephrata High School Friday. The Tigers finished with147. 5 team points. West Valley was second with 90. 

“This makes it seven years in a row the boys have we’ve been league and district champion,” coach Dan Martin said. “We are also the 2A Academic Champion. The girls finished a sold third at district so it’s been a pretty good year for Ephrata Track.”

The Tiger Boys were led by Jonathan Green who ran past the competition in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. He was also a member of the second place 4x100 and 400 relay teams. Jacob Laird placed first in the discus with a throw of 169-01.

Girls

The Lady Tigers placed third in the girl’s competition with 104.5 points. West Valley was first with 206. Ellensburg took second with 148.

Danielle Hiatt set the pace for Ephrata with a first place finish in the 1600 and 3200 meters event. Haley Berryman placed second in the 800 meters, and Kailee Etter tied for second in the high jump clearing 5-00 even.

The Tigers will be sending several athletes to compete at the 2A Track and Field Championships at Mt. Tahoma High School this weekend.
