Western Zones Championship qualifiers

Anna Fair (15), Cora Dana (14), Noah Heaps (14) and Zachary Washburn (11) have qualified for the Western Zones Championships.

MOSES LAKE - The Manta Rays Anna Fair, Cora Dana, Noah Heaps and Zachary Washburn have qualified for the Western Zones Championships.

All four swimmers demonstrated outstanding performances in various events throughout the season.

Fair was a member of Inland Empire Senior Zones All-Stars that took first place in the LSC Division. She swam the backstroke leg in the 400 medley relay that touched first in the event.

This marks the initial trip to the championships for Dana. She shattered a personal best time in the 50 freestyle at the Inland Empire Championships last week, and broke team record that had stood for 22 years.

Heaps and Washburn have now qualified for the Western Zones Championships three times. Both boys have proven to be dominating athletes in their age groups placing among the highest in the region, while eclipsing team records along the way.

The Zones Championships are a stepping stone to national level competition, so this a huge accomplishment for the four athletes.
