MOSES LAKE – A fourth-quarter comeback fell short as the Big Bend Lady Vikings lost to North Idaho 67-60 Wednesday night.
The Vikings trailed 29-12 at the end of the first quarter, and trailed by 15 at half. A 9-2 run in the third cut the deficit to 55-42.
Big Bend outscored North Idaho 25-19 in the fourth quarter and got within three with about a minute left after made shots from Emily Allan and Sunnie Martinez. North Idaho hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to close out the game.
Big Bend’s Maryah Tipping finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds and Reinee Rockett led the Vikings with 14 points in the game.
North Idaho’s Whitney Meier finished with 21 points, including 20 of North Idaho’s 38 in the first half.
The Vikings drop to 3-9 in the NWAC East Region, 11-14 overall and head on the road to Columbia Basin on Saturday.
