QUINCY - Quincy dropped a 2-1 friendly at home to Othello.
The Huskies set the Jacks on their heels early with a goal less than a minute into the action.
"That was the quickest goal I've ever witnessed in high school soccer," coach Arturo Guerrero said. "We were kinda shocked by it ... once we regained our composure ... we ended up dominating every aspect of the game but the final score."
Quincy settled in after the first 10 minutes and then got the equalizer from Francisco "Paco" Alejandrez to send the teams to the break even at a goal apiece.
Othello broke the tie in the 70th minute and then held off a late charge from the Jacks who had ample opportunities to put the ball in the Huskie box.
"We had our opportunities," Guerrero said. "But just couldn't convert ... glad this one was a friendly."
Quincy is at Grandview tonight to match up with the 4-2 greyhounds.
