Manta Rays

MOSES LAKE - Manta Ray Aquatics had one of its best meets in team history, placing first in the Polar Bear Plunge Swim Meet Jan. 16 in Moses Lake.

The Rays outswam the competition by more than 300 points.

“There were many outstanding swims that contributed to the high score count,” coach Steve Washburn said. “Five Manta Rays walked away with prestigious high point awards for scoring the most points in their respective age groups.”

Anthony Alvarez placed first in the Boys 8U age group, sweeping all 10 of his individual swims. Cole Lindberg took the high point award for the Men's 11 and 12 age group with first place finishes in the 100 and 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 200 Individual Medley.

Noah Heaps claimed high point in the Men's 15 and over age group with five first place finishes in the 200 Fly, 200 Backstroke, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke and 1650 Freestyle.

Lady Manta Rays Jessica Williams (13) and Cora Dana (15) also took home high point awards. Williams swam her way to five first place finishes in the 200 Fly, 200 and 400 Individual Medley, and the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.

Dana earned five first place finishes in the 200 Backstroke, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke, and the 50 and 1650 Freestyle.
