Manta Rays

ELLENSBURG -The Manta Rays Aquatics swim team turned in a solid outing at the Winter Open Swim Meet in Ellensburg.

The Rays 8-year-old Anthony Alvarez set the pace with eight first place finishes in his age group. Alvarez swept the 25 and 50-yard butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle events.

Zachary Washburn touched first in all four of his individual swims on Day 2 of the competition, and broke three meet records along the way.

Jessica Williams posted second place finishes in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Butterfly in the 13-14 age group.

The Manta Rays will be among 400 swimmers who will take part in the Inland Empire Championships at Moses Lake High School pool Feb. 26 through the 28th.
