MOSES LAKE – The Big Bend Runnin’ Vikings punched their ticket to the Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament after beating Spokane 99-86 Saturday.
Big Bend finished the regular season 11-5 in conference play, 19-10 overall and earned the No. 4 season in the Eastern Division of the NWAC Tournament.
Jacob McCord led the Vikings on Saturday, posting another double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Jai Jai Ely added 20 points, Joey Andrews 19 and Josh Erickson 17 in the win.
McCord finished the season leading the NWAC is scoring, averaging 25.93 points per game, and rebound with 12.14 rebounds per game.
A 55-point first half gave the Vikings a 15 point lead over Spokane. The Vikings shot better than 56 percent in the game, including 11-of-25 from three-point range.
Big Bend now travels to Everett this week and is scheduled to take on South Puget Sound on Thursday. Tip is set for 2 p.m. South Puget Sound finished the season atop the NWAC West Region with a 13-1 conference record, 22-5 overall.
