Runnin' Vikings

PENDLETON, Ore. – The Big Bend Runnin’ Vikings knocked off Blue Mountain 66-57 Saturday night to win their fifth straight game.

The win moves Big Bend into a first place tie with Spokane in the Northwest Athletic Conference East Region. The Vikings sit at 8-2 in conference play, 16-7 overall, and have a chance to take sole possession of first place as they head on the road to play Spokane on Wednesday.

Big Bend opened up a 38-23 lead at halftime and were able to hold on in the second half.

Despite a quiet offensive night, Jacob McCord recorded another double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Josh Erickson led the Vikings with 18 points.

The Vikings held Blue Mountain to just 32 percent shooting in the first half, and 38 percent for the game.

Wednesday’s game at Spokane tips off at 8 p.m.
