WENATCHEE – After locking down their first postseason berth since 2013 on Wednesday night with a 5-0 shutout victory over the Ridgefield Raptors, the Wenatchee AppleSox suffered a post-celebration letdown on Thursday evening at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

In their final home game of the regular season and series finale’ against Ridgefield, the Sox fell hard by the final count of 16-3.

Wenatchee’s two Montgomerys, Torin and Hunter, both homered in the third inning to tie the score at 3-3. The contest remained knotted up until the eighth inning, when the Raptors scored nine runs to blow the game wide open before adding four more in the ninth to finish off the lopsided victory.

The loss was Wenatchee’s first at home since July 10 and dropped their overall season record to 29-22.

The Sox will hit the road for their final three games of the 2019 regular season this weekend against the Corvallis Knights before returning home for game one of the West Coast Collegiate League North Division Championship Series next Tuesday against the Victoria HarbourCats.
