RITZVILLE – Three people were injured in a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 90 about 11 miles east of Ritzville.
Everardo Andrade, a 35-year-old Spokane Valley man, was driving a 2009 Subaru Impreza east on I-90 when he reportedly drove onto the shoulder and overcorrected, going off the highway to the right, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The vehicle went up a small embankment, went airborne and came to rest in a field on the southbound side of I-90.
Andrade and his two passengers, 38-year-old Gabriella Gonzalez Alvarado and 38-year-old Marisol Larios-Zavala, were all injured in the wreck. Andrade and Gonzalez Alvarado were taken to East Adams Rural Hospital while Larios-Zavala was taken by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation but troopers say drugs or alcohol was involved. The state patrol is seeking vehicular assault charges against Andrade.
