ROYAL - The Royal Knights defended their football kingdom with punishing prowess during Saturday’s quarterfinals contest against Omak.

The Pioneers were no match against legendary coach Wiley Allred and his army of talent. Royal’s defense had a firm grip on Omak’s offense holding the Pioneers to only six points all game.

Cooper Christensen didn’t disappoint making plays on both sides of the ball. Christensen would catch three touchdowns during the game on the arm of Caleb Christensen. The gridiron great would go on to be the catalyst of seven scores six of which were throwing and one rushing.

Tyler Allred was a factor as well entertaining spectators with a 50-yard interception returned for a touchdown. Other players responsible for points included Lorenzo Myrick, Derek Bergeson and Carter Dorsing.

Royal’s 62-6 walk-in-park win advances them to the state semi-final against Connell at Lions Field in Moses Lake this Saturday. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
