MOSES LAKE – A man allegedly threatened to kill Moses Lake police officers and their families before kicking an officer late Friday night.
An officer responded to the 800 block of West Third Avenue as two men began arguing outside a bar. As the officer pulled up in his patrol car, Samuel L. Culpepper, a 24-year-old Moses Lake man, reportedly fled on foot, according to Moses Lake police on Tuesday.
The officer stopped next to Culpepper. He allegedly continued running into an alley as the officer exited his car and started chasing him.
The suspect reportedly ran into a large pole before he stopped and “came at the officer,” Capt. Dave Sands said.
The man allegedly struggled with the officer before he was taken to the ground. He reportedly continued to resist arrest as more officers arrived.
