MOSES LAKE – A traffic stop for a suspected DUI reportedly led to police finding a stolen gun Sunday night in Moses Lake.

Moses Lake police stopped a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu on West Knolls Vista Drive after the driver was reportedly speeding, according to Moses Lake police on Monday.

The alleged driver, Armando J. Estrada, an 18-year-old Moses Lake resident, was taken into custody for DUI.

His passenger, Tyler J. Hilton, a 24-year-old Moses Lake man, was contacted by police and reportedly told officers there was a firearm in the car.

Officers reportedly found a pistol on the passenger-side floorboard and a second pistol under the passenger seat that was previously reported stolen, according to Moses Lake police.

Estrada was arrested for:

  • DUI
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Driving with a suspended license in the second degree.

Hilton was also arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.
